The Barista 22 Sales Representative position is ideal for an experienced salesperson with a deep understanding of retail operations and product distribution. This position demands expertise in specialty coffee and a continuous commitment to industry knowledge and consumer trends. The successful candidate will be energetic, self-motivated, and organized, capable of securing new accounts both locally and nationally. Responsibilities include independently sourcing business through cold calling, following up on leads from coffee shows, and managing online and email inquiries under the guidance of a supervisor. A natural, engaging personality, coupled with creativity and resourcefulness, are essential qualities for this role.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Proactively engage in cold calling to independently source local and national chain coffee and distribution accounts.
- Actively participate in local and national trade shows, leveraging networking opportunities to expand business reach.
- Travel extensively across the country to personally solicit and secure new business ventures.
- Meet monthly goals by successfully signing up new accounts.
- Efficiently project manage marketing initiatives and new business acquisition tasks.
- Provide expert consulting to enhance business profitability for customers.
- Conduct thorough business audits and offer actionable assistance with tailored action plans.
- Serve as a liaison between Barista 22 distributors and chain accounts to ensure smooth operations.
- Deliver customized training sessions as required to enhance client knowledge and satisfaction.
- Utilize deep knowledge of espresso and brewing equipment to assist customers with inquiries, troubleshooting, and driving sales.
- Offer prompt assistance to customers in emergency situations, including tracking orders and samples, even beyond office hours.
- Collaborate with other departments to implement new systems, product forms, warehouse agreements, promotional products, distributor pricing strategies, and more.
- Undertake any additional duties as assigned to drive company objectives and success.
Robust specialty coffee background with knowledge of food service and related business is preferred. Excellent interpersonal communication skills with an ability to self-manage and a flexible working ability. Must be an independent thinker that possesses strong teamwork, detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, as well as strong planning and problem-solving skills. Persistence is key in this position, even when turned down frequently. Extensive computer skills in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel. Must have a valid WA State Driver’s License and dependable insured vehicle.
