THE OPPORTUNITY
Dillard's is seeking an experienced, highly-motivated Business Intelligence & ETL Developer to contribute to our business goals by developing end-to-end BI solutions from data extraction, modeling, and loading to delivery of business reporting solutions. To succeed in this role, you must have advanced SQL skills and be proficient in Python, Kornshell, or other scripting languages. You must also be a self-starter who enjoys working collaboratively and has strong communication skills.
THE TEAM
This role is on our Business Intelligence (BI) team which is responsible for the data and delivery of business reports to many partners within Dillard's. These reports are a critical part of our business, and we rely on BI to provide accurate and timely data. The BI team is the "SIRI" of Dillard's. The work is fast-paced and never dull. Working on this team will allow you to explore many areas of the business.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Gather business requirements, and identify data needed to derive solutions successfully
- Develop ETL processes to load data into the data warehouse
- Develop standard BI reports
- Perform ad hoc analysis when business users need a one-off answer to make an immediate decision
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Ability to work onsite at Corporate Headquarters in Little Rock, AR
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Advanced SQL skills
- Proactively seek opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change to existing processes or procedures
- Remain at the forefront of emerging industry best practices

- Have a working knowledge of Business Intelligence concepts and Data Warehousing methodologies and best practices
- Experience programming in Python, Kornshell, or other scripting languages
- IBM Cognos Experience
- Have exposure to InfoSphere DataStage or a similar ETL tool
- Experience with Teradata or comparable data warehouse platform
- Have basic knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse concepts.
- Have a high-level understanding of Datastage and Cognos.
- Get familiar with the tools used for Data representation.
- Shadow other members of the team.
- Construct queries to derive solutions.
- Maintain Datastage jobs and scripts.
- Develop simple Cognos reports with guidance.
- Shadow your mentor in on-call rotations.
- Participate in business requirements discussions and peer code reviews.
- Be able to oversee projects thoroughly.
