Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall health during procedures.
- Provide proper animal handling and restraint techniques for safe examinations.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and training techniques.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilization of instruments using aseptic techniques.
- Support with animal catheterization and critical care as needed.
- Engage in animal husbandry practices to promote the well-being of all animals in care.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician.
- Strong skills in dog training, dog handling, and general veterinary practices.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine.
- Knowledge of animal catheterization techniques and veterinary critical care protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care for all animals.
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent is highly desirable.
