What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dish Room Worker position at Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton School District 2164?
The Nutrition Service Cook Assistant (Dish room) position is responsible for the daily washing, sanitizing, and putting away the kitchen dishes. They also monitor dish room chemicals, help prep and serve if needed. Additional assigned duties by the Nutrition Service Director.
- Monitors the dish machine to ensure that we are in compliant with health and safety standards/regulations
- Run daily dish machine temperature checks and log the information in the temp log
- Wash,sanitize, and put away the kitchen dishes and trays before leaving for the day
- Sanitize the tray racks before putting clean trays on them
- Maintain the daily cleanliness of the dish machine, the dish area, and 3 compartment sink area
- Complete the daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly clean duties assigned
- Monitors and reports any issues to the Lead Cook or Nutrition Service Director
- Helps serve on the serving line if needed
- Adhere to the assigned work schedule by maintaining regular and punctual attendance
- Position requires standing for the whole shift: except on breaks. Must be able to climb a step stool or ladder
- Position requires repetitive use of fingers, hands, and wrist: Complete range of motion required
- Requires lifting, pulling, and pushing loads: Occasional lifting up to 40lbs
- Monday - Friday, Typically 6 hour shift 11:00-2:30 for 179 days a year (depending on contract)
- School issued uniform shirts w/ jeans or khakis, hair restraint (if around food), comfortable closed shoes that protect your feet from falling objects. No nail polish, sweatpants, yoga or stretchy pants, capri’s, shorts, or tank tops.

- Adhere to the assigned work schedule by maintaining regular and punctual attendance
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.26 - $19.94 per hour
