Lunchroom helper is required to ensure high standards of customer service and lunchroom sanitation. Visit with students as you monitor and help with the lunch room flow. Keep the lunchroom tables cleaned and sanitized along with other daily cleaning tasks. In times of shortages you will fill in positions in the commons or kitchen. Daily direction will come from the Lunchroom Supervisors. Additional duties may be assigned from the Director of Nutrition Services or Kitchen Site Lead.
- Friendly and helpful to the students, staff, and visitors while monitoring over the lunch runs
- Redirecting behavior in a positive manner
- Clean and sanitize tables between runs and at the end of the day
- Assures proper and timely completion of the assigned tasks
- Clean and sanitize home lunch bins, water fountain, lunch tables, and doors
- Put lunch tables up and down in their assigned spot
- Help maintain a clean area in the lunchroom
- Establishes and maintains good relations between staff and students, district employees and public. Must promote an inclusive positive work environment
- Adhere to the assigned work schedule by maintaining regular and punctual attendance. Due to the important nature of making sure there are enough staff to monitor students, excess absences will not be allowed.
- Will help to fill in with staff shortages at the assigned site in the kitchen and lunchroom
- Position requires standing and walking the entire shift. Must be able to climb a two step ladder
- Position requires repeated bending, stooping, and repetitive use of arm, shoulder, fingers, hands, and wrist
- Position requires physical strength to put up and down the lunch room tables
- Complete range of motion is required
- Monday - Friday, Typically 3 hour shift from 10:30 - 1:30 for 179 days a year
- School issued uniform shirt or vests. Hair restraint (if working in the kitchen), comfortable closed toe shoes that protect your feet from falling objects. No sweatpants, yoga or stretchy pants, shorts, or tank tops.
- Maintain clean hygiene daily
- Exposure to loud noise with groups of students talking
- No cell phone use during your shift
- Friendly and enjoys working with students
- Demonstrate excellent customer relations skills with a how can i help attitude
- Ability to refrain from using your cell phone during your shift. Monitoring and helping students needs your full attention
- Basic computer experience to request time off, punch in/out, and check emails
- Adhere to the assigned work schedule by maintaining regular and punctual attendance. Due to the important nature of making sure there are enough staff to monitor students, excessive absences can not be allowed.
- Be able to physically, mentally, and emotionally handle stressful situations in a professional manner
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.26 - $19.94 per hour
Expected hours: 14 – 16 per week
