Job Summary
- To prepare and serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and friendliness.
- To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the cafeteria for the ultimate health,
Essential Functions
- Prepares food according to a plann ed menu and uniform recipes, and determines if the finished product is of best quality both in flavor and appearance before it is served.
- Assists in the preparation and serving of food to patrons in a quick and pleasant manner and prepares cafeteria counters.
- Operates equipment as needed.
- Performs related duties as required including duties at special meal functions.
- Assists in the processing of food being delivered, inventory control, and cashiering.
- Reports to the cafeteria manager any faulty or inferior qualit y food which is received.
- Assists in the daily clean up of the kitchen and service areas.
- Supervises culinary arts student helpers in daily lunch preparation and daily closing and cleaning operations.
- Reports immediately to the cafeteria manager any problem or accident occurring in the kitchen or the cafeteria premises.
- Confers with the cafeteria manager re garding any personnel problems.
- Maintains professional competence through in-serv ice education activities provided by the Department of Education, the District and/or, with prior approval, in self selected professional growth activities.

- Food Handler's Certificate
- Serve Safe Certificate
- Able to perform tasks requiring an ordinary degree of skill in the preparation and serving of food as well as other tasks required for the operation and sanitary mainntenance of a food service facility or area .
- Basic computer skills.
