Job Summary:
The Maintenance Planner will develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and maintain spare parts inventory through the use of cmms software. Perform mechanical, electrical and preventative maintenance on equipment and provide subject matter expertise on all equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Developing and managing detailed maintenance schedules and work orders
- Coordinating and scheduling all maintenance activities
- Ensuring that all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and industry standards
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance performed, equipment condition, and maintenance costs
- Working with engineering and operations teams to plan and implement equipment modifications and upgrades
- Procuring necessary maintenance supplies and equipment
- Working with vendors and contractors as needed
- Participating in the development and implementation of maintenance policies, procedures, and best practices
- Ensures operation of all machinery by completing preventive maintenance requirements as established by manufacturer's specifications.
- Inspect, operate, or test CNC and manual machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and initiate repairs as required.
- Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
- Performs repairs to hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components.
- Maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing and physical structure of all production facilities.
- Measure, cut, and install wiring and conduit.
- Install and program electrical equipment.
- Follow electrical blueprints and schematics.
- Troubleshoot or replace electrical components as needed
Non- Essential Duties:
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Provides communication to production on potential equipment problems that could negatively affect operations.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educations workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with OSHA regulations and company procedures and rules
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of 3 phase power systems.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings.
- Able to follow directions and perform repetitive maintenance tasks.
- Technical understanding of maintenance concepts and practices.
- Able to quickly change focus and priority from one issue to the next based on needs of the production floor.
- Basic common safety practices, OSHA certification a plus.
- Proficiency in using maintenance planning and scheduling software
- Good knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards
- Familiarity with maintenance equipment and supplies procurement processes
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
- Strong problem-solving skills
Experience and Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3-4 years maintenance experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Special Requirements
- Machine shop work environment: dust, grease and metal shavings are common.
- Significant safety risks from equipment and the environment require constant vigilance and care.
- Able to work holidays, and weekends as requested at all facilities; overtime may be required during peak business periods and to meet rush requirements.
- Complies with all safety requirements when on the shop floor including steel-toed boots/shoes; safety glasses; and when required, hearing and/or ear protection
- Willing to work in other areas and departments as needed.
