JOB TITLE : Human Resources Generalist
Position Summary : Responsible for recruiting, interviewing and hiring staff positions, providing support for employee relations and performance management, administering FMLA, Worker's Compensation, and NMLS, enforcing Bank policies and practices, and providing general support for HR functions and projects.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open staff positions. Collaborates with hiring managers to understand the skills and competencies required for open positions.
- Identifies and seeks effective solutions for recruiting of open positions, to include job boards, participation in career fairs, organizational or school networks, and any other creative solution that may lead to a strong and diverse candidate pool. In conjunction with the Learning and Development Manager, also participates in the selection and oversight of the Bank's interns.
- Acquires background screenings and to ensure all due diligence is completed on final candidates.
- Scanning of employee file documents within HRIS system
- Responds to unemployment insurance claims for terminated employees.
- Responsible to complete and maintain all FMLA (Federal, CT, RI and Mass) Paid Sick Leave process and tracking.
- Participates in the development and tracking of HR reports and analytics relative to staffing activity and trends.
- Under direction of SVP, CHRO, generates and tracks performance reviews and participates in communications to managers, and development of annual merit worksheets.
- Participates in the maintenance and analysis of job pay grades, and job descriptions.
- In accordance with the SAFE Act, administers the registration, renewals, and updates to the NMLS System for mortgage loan officers.
- Provides support for the registration, renewal and audit of NMLS records
- Participates in the completion of HR surveys.
- Responsible for OSHA and Workers Compensation tracking and online reporting.
- Participate in the annual budgeting process for related general ledger accounts.
- Attends HR and Banking industry training to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and stays abreast of industry trends and best practices.
- Ensure placement of job postings utilizing the HRIS system and external resources. (i.e. job boards, WFN, local newspapers, CT Job Central, etc.)
- Maintains internal HR records and reports such as, (Authorized Complement, Org charts and HR Metrics)
- Serves as backup to the Payroll and Benefits Administrator for Payroll processing
KNOWLEDGE\SKILLS\EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
3-5 years' experience working in Human Resources.
