Job Description:
Dimensional is a global asset manager with employees in multiple jurisdictions working in a highly regulated industry. Dimensional's Legal division is an in-house team of business-focused attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants who partner with internal and external teams to help provide legal expertise across business functions, legal systems, and jurisdictions.
The Employment Law Counsel role will specialize in employment issues and provide support to senior counsel and the Human Resources Group on a global basis.
Responsibilities:
- Assist senior counsel and HR personnel with employee relations and HR policy issues on a global basis in the jurisdictions where the Company has employees, including Texas, California, and North Carolina in the United States, and globally in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
- Provide counsel for and help manage legal risk relating to a wide variety of employment-related legal and business issues in a highly regulated industry.
- Develop and revise employment policies and procedures, including employee handbooks.
- Draft and negotiate employment, consulting, and related agreements.
- Advise on employment law related compliance issues.
- Provide support with respect to immigration and visa issues.
- Keep abreast of and advise on developments in employment law as applicable to the business.
- Coordinate with management and outside counsel as needed.
- Assist in the oversight of any employment related litigation matters.
Qualifications:
- 6 years of practice in employment law in a top-tier law firm or in-house corporate position, preferably in the financial services sector.
- JD from a top law school.
- Member of Texas State Bar preferred; membership in a U.S. state bar required.
- Knowledge of federal employment laws required, and familiarity with Texas, California and North Carolina state employment laws preferred. Knowledge of the employment laws of the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, and/or Singapore preferred.
- Knowledge of privacy laws and/or AI as applied in the employment context a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, preferably with experience presenting to senior executives.
- Extremely detail oriented and organized.
- Able to work well in a team environment.
- Self-starter who is capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
