The Lead Business Continuity Analyst is a highly visible position serving as the conduit between the business functions and the IT and Risk Management organizations. This position has global purview and will be responsible for driving Business Continuity initiatives to include business impact analysis, BC planning, BC testing, training, and remediation oversight of identified gaps. The Lead Analyst will provide expertise in coordinating, assessing, developing & communicating BC requirements and plans to protect the firm in the event that people, facilities or technology resources are unavailable due to an unforeseen disruption. This role will participate in complex projects as the conduit between the technology groups and other company business functions.
In addition, the Lead Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the completeness, regular review, and appropriate testing of office and firm-level business continuity plans. He/she will also be responsible for reporting, analysis, risk assessment and mitigation planning. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and understanding of business continuity planning techniques and best practices, as well as the methods used in performing risk analyses and business impact analyses.

What you might work on:
- Develop, coordinate, and maintain comprehensive business continuity plans to ensure the ability to for the firm to continue business operations in the event of a disruption.
- Assist departments and business units in determining critical business processes, identifying acceptable recovery timeframes, designing and implementing continuity solutions, and establishing resources required for the successful resumption of business operations in the event of a disruption.
- Partner with infrastructure and application areas to develop and maintain continuity procedures for Tier 1 business applications. Ensure alignment between the disaster recovery and business continuity programs.
- Ensure development of capabilities critical to maintaining continuity plans. This includes not only the technology infrastructure but also non-technology-based resources such as vital records, support materials, etc.
- Plan and coordinate tests to exercise continuity capabilities. Assure that recovery procedures are effective for the restoration critical business processes. Assist departments in revising plans based on the results of the exercises. Coordinate follow-up on lessons learned as required.
- Audit Business Continuity Plans, document preparedness status and report to management.
- Assist incident response team members during a disaster in the implementation of response and alternate operating strategies. Act as a resource during an emergency situation.
- Work with vendors of disaster recovery services and facilities; study and recommend services for use during plan development, testing, and actual disaster response.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the business processes, assets, facilities, regulatory requirements and interdependencies of the firm.
- Develop and maintain standards and procedures for business recovery planning documentation.
- Determine and report key metrics for compliance and recovery capabilities.
- Participate in client meetings regarding area of expertise as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years in business recovery/continuity roles
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of all areas of a mutual fund complex or an investment advisor
- In-depth knowledge of current business continuity planning techniques and technologies
- Practiced skills in the methods used in performing risk analyses and business impact analyses.
- Experience in organizational change management and focus on user experience
- Strong process/business analysis skills
- Excellent communications (oral and written). Able to present logical, well-thought-out issues to management
- Experience in utilizing a business recovery planning software system to maintain and communicate recovery plans
- Strong project management skills. Ability to manage several projects while managing customers' expectations
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, intensive environment
- Knowledge of risk management disciplines, including information security risk, information technology risk, vendor risk, and operational risk
Preferred Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree
- CBCP certified or equivalent
- Familiarity with IT concepts, infrastructure & data center technologies
- Professional written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate BCP related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences
- Poise and ability to act calmly and competently in high-pressure, high-stress situations
