Reporting to the Production Supervisor, Main Shop, the Fabricator II is a strong team player who enjoys working in a creative, problem solving, and fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is a full-time, hourly position scheduled Monday-Friday with the availability for overtime when necessary.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS may include but are not limited to:
- Follows company safety policies and processes
- Fabricates, assembles, and finishes custom projects by using knowledge of fabrication processes (i.e., sanding, cutting, gluing, routing, etc.)
- Can sand material and use Bondo/filler when necessary with some guidance
- Has knowledge in reading, interpreting, & scaling blueprints with some guidance
- Completes quality control checks during build process, to ensure DI standards are met
- Adheres to established work hours and takes responsibility for managing time effectively
- Recognizes potential challenges or issues on projects and escalates when necessary
- Flame polishing and custom acrylic fabrication
- Works safely in and around a fabrication shop environment
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and good work ethic
- Open to receiving guidance
- Maintains a schedule and hits deadlines
- Fulfills other production duties assigned as needed
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Can use overhead gantry with assistance
- Trained on forklift/scissor lifts
- Knowledge of materials and their functions
- Communicates professionally and respectfully with co-workers in both verbal and written form.
- Basic knowledge of geometry, fractions, & decimals - both standard and metric
- Holds self accountable and has good knowledge of general Production processes
- Exhibits a positive, professional attitude and approachable communication style
- Skilled in fabricating jigs with guidance ● Good knowledge of various measuring tools
- Skilled in blade identification and uses
- Demonstrates competent skills in operating all saws and machines
- Understands solvents/adhesives (mix ratios and limits)
- Keen eye for quality control and quality assurance
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years of experience with finish carpentry, cabinet making, custom woodworking, finishing required
- Basic electrical skills strongly preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- The employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Employee must be able to talk and hear

Due to our onsite Fabrication process, the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.

This is an hourly (non-exempt) position.
