Retail Associate/Cashier/ Cleaner

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team at a busy grocery store. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a passion for providing exceptional customer service. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for handling transactions, assisting customers with their purchases, and ensuring a smooth checkout experience.

Duties

• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the cash register.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while maintaining accurate cash handling procedures.
• Provide product demos and assist customers in selecting items to enhance their shopping experience.
• Stock shelves and maintain product displays to ensure the store is well-organized and visually appealing.
• Upsell products when appropriate to maximize sales opportunities.
• Supervise other staff members during busy periods to ensure efficient operations.
• Maintain a clean and orderly checkout area, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Address customer inquiries with professionalism and courtesy, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette when necessary.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a cashier or sales role is preferred, especially in a grocery store setting.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively.
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• A positive attitude with a focus on providing outstanding customer service.
• Willingness to learn about products and promotions to effectively assist customers.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
