Currently looking for all shifts: 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am
Position Preferences:
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Experience in any social service field is also acceptable.
- At least one year of experience in caregiving is preferred.
Position Requirements:
Candidates…
- Must be able to pass a fingerprinting/criminal background check.
- Must have a clean driving record and a personal vehicle.
- Must either have or be willing to become CPR/First Aid certified.
- Must have or get a clear TB test result.
Position Summary
We are looking for creative, fun, and energetic candidates to provide one-on-one support as a Personal Attendant primarily with one of our clients in Lafayette. It is possible however, that on occasion they will receive shifts with other various individual clients.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Providing clients with support, company, and comfort.
- Providing constant and appropriate supervision while on duty.
- Engaging clients in suitable activities, such as having conversations, playing games, or taking walks.
- Transporting and accompanying clients to day programs, medical appointments, community events, etc.
- Providing mobility support.
- Assisting clients with their self-administration of medications, including monitoring and documenting their intake, while also ensuring that medications are handled and stored correctly.
- Reporting changes in the physical, mental, and emotional conditions of clients to lead staff and documenting it in the shift notes.
- Providing support with personal hygiene, including brushing teeth, bathroom visits, bathing, and dressing.
- Performing basic housekeeping duties, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Maintaining a hygienic, tidy, and safe environment.
- Being a role model in adult behavior and effectively setting limits.
- Assisting clients with independent living goals.
- Assisting clients with household finances, bills, and payments, as well as running errands.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
