Duty Schedule:
Monday -Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, evenings and weekends as needed
Summary/Objective of Position:
The Post-Award Coordinator ensures PIs have essential financial and non-financial support to enable the successful execution and closeout of sponsored projects at Diné College. Will provide comprehensive post-award support, coordinate between PIs and accounting, ensure compliance, schedule and conduct monthly meetings to review budget reconciliations and key project milestones, and offer financial and non-financial guidance throughout the award lifecycle.
Description of Essential Functions of the Position

Award Management:
- Review and note terms and conditions of grant awards.
- Facilitate budget revisions and adjust project timelines/scope of work.
- Schedule and conduct kick-off meetings for new awards or awards with new PIs.
- Perform monthly reconciliations and meet with PIs to advise on expenditures, sub-awards, purchasing/vendor processes, independent contractor agreements, and other related items.
- support PIs in administrative tasks that facilitate timely completion of scope of work including but not limited to submitting new personnel action forms, workload forms, and assist with other federal and internal required procedures.
Communication and Support:
- Serve as a liaison between faculty, Research, and Grants Accounting.
- Resolve problems and provide resources on budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
- Assist with the development and presentation of workshops and training materials for PIs and submitters.
Compliance and Monitoring:
- Ensure completion of mandatory reports and adherence to deadlines.
- Ensure appropriate correspondence with sponsors for any extension requests.
Data Management:
- Ensure accurate data from Jenzabar is posted to monthly reconciliations.
- Develop annual budgets to align with Diné College's fiscal year.
- Coordinate Diné College fiscal year close-out; developed budgets for the new fiscal year.
- Provide individual and aggregated, actual and projected expenditures for sponsored projects.
- Perform data maintained checks and assist with periodic reports.
Other Key Duties:
- Assist with special reporting requirements, (e.g., HERD report)
- Remain informed of updated on grant regulations (Uniform Guidance) and Diné College policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Minimum:
- Bachelor's Degree in any field (relevant field preferred)
- One year of experience with grant proposals and budget development for various funding agencies
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- Master's Degree in Business Administration; Public Administration, related field.
- Two or more years of experience in grants management, including post-award administration.
- Experience presenting information and making budgetary recommendations
- Experience working in higher education
Knowledge:
- Federal and state grant regulations and policies, especially the Uniform Guidance.
- Diné College Financial Policies and Procedures; Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual; other procedures related to sponsored projects administration.
- Budget development, accounting principles, and cost allocation methods.
- Principle of human subjects research, conflict of interest, and research ethics.
- Sub-award management and sub-recipient monitoring processes.
- Research compliance requirements for different sponsors (e.g. NSF, NIH, NOAA)
Skills:
- Communication (written and verbal) - effectively explains complex grant regulations and financial information.
- Interpersonal skills - build and maintain positive relationships across departments.
- Organizational skills - manage the schedule of monthly reconciliation meetings and meet target dates.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills - identify and resolve issues related to grant compliance and budget management.
- Technical Skills - proficiency in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and online collaboration tools. Data visualization skills are a plus.

Physical Requirements, Work Environment & Travel:
- Work in a typical office environment with some travel required. Lifting items of 25 lbs or less. Expected movement includes bending, sitting, reaching, and walking.
- Ability to sit for an extended period and operate standard office equipment.

Salary : $45,000 - $52,000
