Duty Schedule:
Sunday-Saturday, 7:00 am - 9:00 pm; possibly late hours and weekends
Summary/Objective of Position:
Student intern will assist the Student Engagement & Leadership Domain in developing, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive program that offers a variety of quality extra-curricular activities and events on campus. This program will focus on supporting the growth and development of students by providing opportunities for social, cultural, recreational, and educational engagement.
The student intern will coordinate with both internal and external agencies, as well as entertainers, to ensure successful program execution. The role also involves regular interaction with students, department staff, and faculty to help ensure smooth communication and collaboration.

Description of Essential Functions of the Position

- The student intern will maintain a positive, professional relationships with internal and external agencies and within the College campus community.
- The student intern will assist in coordinating, preparing, and distributing materials related to student activities and student services. The student intern will help create and edit promotional items such as flyers, posters, and other materials for campus-wide distribution.
- The student intern will gather input from commuter and resident students through surveys and data collection on various student activities and topics of interest.
- The student intern will handle scheduling meetings and events, managing files, sorting and distributing mail, entering data, maintaining event equipment inventory, and running campus errands.
- The student intern will support booking campus facilities and organizing training sessions, workshops, and events in collaboration with other departments, student clubs, and College community organizations.
- The student intern will maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly and professionally.
- The student intern will contribute to a safe and supportive campus environment by participating in drills and training and being prepared to respond to health or safety emergencies.
- The student intern will help promote physical health and wellness activities on campus by organizing workshops, hosting promotional booths, and engaging students in wellness initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Minimum:
Must be enrolled at Dine College and seeking to obtain a degree in Psychology, Business Administration, Social Work, Health Occupation, Public Health, etc.
Knowledge:
Ability to perform accurate, detailed work, demonstrate ability to work with diverse student population and campus community, and demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment. Ability to adhere to work rules, follow directions, use time effectively, and meet deadlines.
Ability to operate an office work station, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet and other software. Must be able to follow the College's 3P Manual and Student Code of Conduct.
Skills:
Ability to work independently and with groups, dependable and responsible, detail-oriented, a sense of personal responsibility, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and moderate experience with Audio and Visual set up.
Knowledge and experience using integrated software systems and Microsoft applications (with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Publisher, Excel, and Power Point presentation).
Knowledge of Navajo Culture & Language preferred. Coordinate and organized meeting and special events.
Abilities:
Performs moderately complex clerical duties, assisting with the collection of data, compiling statistics, maintaining long-range calendars of multiple venues.
Coordinate multiple recreational, educational, and social program.
Work primary, but not exclusively, in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential or work hazards.
Ability to work a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends as needed.
Physical Requirements, Work Environment & Travel:
The position requires average ability and good physical condition.
Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy materials weighing up to approximately 25 to 50 pounds.
Work may require sitting, near vision use for reading and computer use, lifting, stooping, bending, stretching, walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and other physical exertion.
Other Requirement(s):
Ability to fluently speaking Navajo, but not mandatory.
