What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server/Bartender/Support Staff position at Dinghy's Restaurant and Bar?
Dinghy's Restaurant & Bar is looking for both lunch and dinner servers. Looking for dynamic and hard working individuals to join our family. Free meals and great money and servers. Apply online or in person. The restaurant will be open all year but we are looking for seasonal staff. Opportunity for year round employment is contingent on performance and availability.
Dinghy's is a historical staple in Frankfort, with a focus on smoked meats & barbecue. We have a full bar as well. We are a fast paced environment that aims to provide great & efficient service.

Primary Responsibilities
o Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Dinghy's Restaurant & Bar
o Monitor and observe guests dining experience to ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service, and respond promptly and courteously to correct any problems.
o Collect payments from guests.
o Use a tablet to electronically take orders for transmittal to kitchen and/or bar staff.
o Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
o Take food or beverages orders from guests.
o Serve food or beverages to guests, and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required.
o Present menus to guests and answer questions about menu items, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services
o Inform guests of menu changes and daily specials, and make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
o Clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining.
o Prepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks for guests.
o Roll silverware, set up food stations or set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for large parties.
o Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens.
o Explain to guests how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
o Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning.
o Assist host or hostess by greeting, seating, and thanking guests.
o Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, taking out trash, or checking and cleaning bathroom.
o Escort guests to their tables.
o Garnish and decorate dishes in preparation for serving.
o Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers.
o Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the restaurant’s standard drink recipes.
o Accept guest payment, process credit card charges, and make change if necessary.
o Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
o Balance cash receipts.
o Record drink orders accurately and immediately after having received them into the register system.
o Attempt to limit problems and liability related to guests’ excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading guests to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated guests.
o Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding beverages.
o Clean work areas, and tables.
o Ask guests who become loud and obnoxious to leave, or physically remove them.
o Recognize and learn the names of regular guests
o Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues to the restaurant manager.
o Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.
o Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
o Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
Bar Specific Responsibilities:
o Clean and sterilize glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
o Stock bar with beer, wine, liquor, and related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins, or straws.
o Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from guests seated at the bar.
o Clean bars, work areas, and tables.
o Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
o Serve snacks or food items to guests seated at the bar.
o Slice and pit fruit, and prepare other garnishes for drinks.
o Arrange and maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation, promotion of beverages, and attractive displays.
o Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
o Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $4.75 - $25.00 per hour
