Dinsmore is seeking a Billing Supervisor at our Cincinnati, OH location to lead and manage a team of Client Billing Representatives who are responsible for the daily billing functions including time and cost transfers, write-downs, electronic bills, special bills, void/rebills and attorney inquiries.
Responsibilities
Interview prospective employees and chooses the best applicant based on skills, knowledge, and abilities required for the job
Train and oversee employees involved in billing functions
Direct assigned tasks and provides assistance as needed
Assist with performance evaluations
Oversee the preparation of prebills and bills; ensure accurate application of retainers, on account expenses, on account fees, unapplied and trust funds
Ensure maintenance of client records related to invoicing and bill payment
Review work of Client Billing Representatives to ensure accuracy, resolving inconsistencies as needed
Draft and distribute weekly reports of invoicing and billing metrics
Reconciles client accounts. Maintain accurate and complete documentation of billing changes for audit trail
Advise Client Billing Representatives on proper, legal parameters regarding billing practices; ensures that all billing actions comply with client guidelines
Coordinate all aspects of billing for assigned attorneys and clients in accordance with Firm policies
Provide training and daily assistance to Billing Representatives. Coordinate and discuss billing related issues, concerns and questions with Billing Manage
Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related billing software
Basic understanding of collection practices and laws
Possess strong analytical skills, and ability to audit data for accuracy
Possess an understanding of data workflow
Hands on experience in processing invoices
Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills
Ability to act with discretion, tact, and professionalism in all situations
Ability to maintain records and produce reports
Extreme attention to detail
Bachelor’s degree preferred
At least three to five years in a supervisory or management role preferably billing or a related field
