Dinsmore is seeking an Information Governance Analyst at our Troy, MI location who is responsible for understanding and maintaining processes, policies, and appropriate controls to ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual and business requirements for the proper management, retention and disposition of Firm information.

Dinsmore is seeking an Information Governance Analyst at our Troy, MI location who is responsible for understanding and maintaining processes, policies, and appropriate controls to ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual and business requirements for the proper management, retention and disposition of Firm information.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the formation and execution of information governance framework, policies, and standards
- Specialize in managing the information flow within the organization as well movement of information into and out of the firm’s environment to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data
- Assist in the implementation of an enterprise information governance program
- Drive awareness and compliance to ensure proper data classification, transfer, collection and retention of all responsive materials
- Assist in the development of best practices in the use of technology and workflow processes
- Drive process improvement through collaboration with data owners by understanding business goals and objectives and aligning to information governance program
- Develop and communicate guidelines for enterprise information management practices
- Provide thought leadership and participate with projects that involve any data flows and processes
- Develop and maintain data mapping
- Create and execute a communication plan that ensures data owners are aware of and understand the information governance strategy and policies and comprehend their role and responsibilities
- Participate with security team in data loss prevention initiatives including implementation of appropriate processes with the business and management of technical solutions to prevent data loss
- Assist with data management with respect to vendor controls and impact on firm data integrity
- Perform other duties as assigned
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of related duties and responsibilities; prior law firm background preferred
- Experience with Varonis a plus
- Ability to communicate and document comprehensive technical issues for a nontechnical audience in a professional manner
- Experience with Power BI and SQL helpful, but not required
