What are the responsibilities and job description for the Labor and Employment Associates position at Dinsmore & Shohl LLP?
Dinsmore, a prominent national law firm with over 750 attorneys in 30 cities, has an immediate need for labor and employment associates in Chicago, IL; Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, and Dayton OH; Indianapolis, IN; Lexington, and Louisville, KY; Detroit, MI; Pittsburgh, PA; Tampa, FL; and Charleston, Huntington, Morgantown, and Wheeling, WV. Qualified candidates must have 2-5 years of labor and employment experience. Responsibilities include litigation defense and advising employers on compliance with state and federal employment laws and working on FMLA, ADA, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge, and violation of wage law matters. Traditional labor experience dealing with NLRB issues, collective bargaining, and grievance/arbitration is preferred as well as experience taking depositions, arguing motions, and preparing cases for trial. Qualified candidates can look forward to a practice that will include significant client contact and handling all aspects of complex employment cases for regional and national clients of all sizes.
All candidates should have a strong academic background, and possess excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills. A license to practice in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, or West Virginia is required. Out of state candidates who are either willing to sit for the bar exam or eligible for admission in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, or West Virginia will be considered.
