Job Summary
The job of Special Education Teacher / Mild-Moderate was established for the purpose / s of providing support for the instructional program for students with special needs; pertinent information and consultant services to staff members and parents on student assessments and progress monitoring : ongoing planning with regular classroom teachers; and promoting and supporting the school Student Study Team.
Job Description / Essential Elements :
The special education teacher provides research based intervention to students with special needs in an included or pull-out setting. The special educator may also provide instruction using standards based curriculum. Special education teachers help to develop. implement and monitor an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each special education student.
Requirements / Qualifications
POSITIONS AVAILABLE : K- 12 SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER-POOL (Mild / Moderate)
QUALIFICATIONS :
1. Must possess a valid Special Education Specialist Instruction Credential OR meet eligibility requirements for Intern Program.
a. Appropriate credential authorization to teach in an elementary self-contained classroom or single subject Mathematics, English Language Arts, or other single subject areas is preferred
along with #1 above.
2. Appropriate documentation authorizing instruction to English learners.
3. Two to three years successful classroom teaching experience is desirable.
4. Experience working with children with Autism and are knowledgeable about EBA (Evidence Based Programs)
