Seeking Bookkeeper (part-time):
We are seeking a part-time bookkeeper in the office. This position will include performing monthly reconciliations, monitoring budgets, creating reports for the pastor as needed and quarterly finance council meetings, assist donors with creating online giving account when needed, and some other basic office duties.Skills we are seeking are someone who has/is:- 3 years of bookkeeping experience (preferred).- Familiarity/proficiency with Intuit Quick Books (preferred).- Proficiency with creating excel spreadsheets and reports.- Basic phone and computer skills (typing, emailing, Microsoft Office).- Organized and good time management skills.- Good communication skills.- Catholic (preferred).
The Bookkeeper position is a specialized position responsible for the prudent stewardship and effective administration of the financial resources of Our Lady of Mount Carmel & Our Lady of Perpetual Help parishes in St Francisville, LA. The Bookkeeper works with office staff producing accurate financial statements, executing best practices for internal controls, analysis of financial data and implementation of financial guidelines and procedures established in the Diocese of Baton Rouge Parish Administrative Manual.Essential Job Functions:Record weekly collections, ancillary income and other cash receipts in QuickbooksProcess payments to vendors; maintain vendor filesPrepare reconciliations as necessaryAssist in preparing financial reports monthly for pastoral council meetingsAssist in preparing budgets for review, approval and monthly maintenanceIssuing contribution statements annually to OLMC & OLPH parishioners Ensure existence of verifiable audit trail for all financial transactionsImplement best practices as delegated by SupervisorRequired Competencies:
Practicing Catholic preferred.
