Job Title : Pharmacy Tech
This position provides hands on support to all facets of the pharmacy operations. This position assists the pharmacists in stocking and assembling medications and communicates with community medical providers in support of pharmacy operations under the direction of the Chief Pharmacist. This position provides administrative support as delegated by the Operations Director and pharmacy specific support as functionally supervised by the Chief Pharmacist.
The personnel of the Pharmacy Programs of St. Vincent de Paul of Baton Rouge collaborate with all St. Vincent de Paul staff by embracing all works of charity and justice. All staff collaborate with other people of good will in relieving need and addressing its causes, making no distinction in those served, because in them St. Vincent de Paul sees the face of Christ.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
A. Education, Experience & Training :
- Must have completed and passed a Pharmacy Technician Training Program approved by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy.
- Passed the technician certification examination administered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
- Maintain a Pharmacy Technician certification in Louisiana.
- Have at least three years' experience as a Pharmacy Technician

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES / PERFORMANCE STANDARDS :
1. Communicates with medical providers, community supports and patients under supervision of Pharmacists
2. Assists in maintaining pharmacy inventory
3. Assists pharmacist in preparing prescriptions for dispensing under the supervision of the pharmacist .
4. Assists pharmacist in dispensing and documenting prescriptions under the supervision of the pharmacist
5. Maintains pharmacy clients.
