Job Summary:
As a member of the elementary team, the teacher is responsible for a self-contained classroom, instructing in all subject areas, including religion, while planning and delivering engaging and differentiated instruction. Intermediate and Middle School teachers will have homeroom responsibilities and work with colleagues to integrate Catholic values throughout the curriculum. A key focus will be fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to excel academically and grow in their faith. Whether teaching in the elementary, intermediate team, or middle school, the teacher’s role includes creating an environment where students can thrive both in their studies and in their spiritual development.
Responsibilities:
- Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
- Act as a witness to the Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Plan and deliver standards-based instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners.
- Differentiate instruction to support students with varying abilities and learning styles.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technology to engage students in learning.
- Assess student progress and provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Catholic values and principles into the math curriculum.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters academic growth and spiritual development.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and achievements.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in the state of Texas.
- Experience teaching at the elementary, intermediate, or middle school level (experience in a Catholic school preferred).
- Strong knowledge of content, pedagogy, and instructional strategies.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the school.
