What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher position at Diocese of Dallas Schools?
St. Monica Catholic School has openings for substitute teachers. We are looking to employ substitute teachers who will assist our teachers in forming future Saints and Scholars while they are away from the classroom.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position
- Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of St. Monica Catholic School.
- Act as a role model for Gospel values by following the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
- Implement prescribed lessons plans.
- Practice positive and consistent classroom management.
- Maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
- Use technology in the support of the daily lesson plan.
- Guide the students in their learning process to fulfill the daily assignments.
- Take attendance and report absences to the Substitute Manager or enter directly into the computer.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, teacher certification, or currently in school pursuing a degree from an American university.
Special Requirements:
- Preferred practicing Catholic in good standing.
- Must be willing and open to teach the Catholic religion, required.
- Must complete a safe environment course and background check.
