Job Description

Marquette is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Teacher to join our dynamic academic team. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, student engagement, and academic growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans aligned with state and national standards.
  • Teach a variety of subjects in general studies, ensuring a well-rounded education for all students.
  • Create an inclusive, respectful classroom atmosphere that supports diverse learning styles.
  • Assess student progress through regular assignments, quizzes, exams, and projects.
  • Provide timely feedback and offer academic support to students to help them achieve their learning goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching strategies and share resources.
  • Participate in school-wide events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to ensure student success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification in Indiana or eligibility for certification.
  • Experience teaching high school students, preferably in a general studies or multidisciplinary setting.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into teaching practices is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Additional Duties

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Equipment

Use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.

Travel Requirements

Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Work Schedule

Standard teacher work schedule as set forth in the Teachers' Unit Contract.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
  • Knowledge of business education curriculum and concepts.
  • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
  • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
  • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards

Work in standard office and school building environments.

Certification/License

Qualifications Profile

  • State Certification as required for position.
  • Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.

Education:

  • Bachelor's from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
  • Masters Degree preferred.

Experience:

Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
