POSITION: Adult Discipleship/OCIA Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Discipleship Director
STATUS: Hourly
WORK SCHEDULE: Approximately 30 hours per week
POSITION SUMMARY: The Adult Discipleship/OCIA Coordinator will be part of the Discipleship team that seeks to care for the spiritual needs of Kaukauna Catholic Parishes. The coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing religious education programs for OCIA, Sacramental Preparation, and Adult Faith Formation.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Adult Discipleship/OCIA Coordinator will be part of the Discipleship team that seeks to care for the spiritual needs of Kaukauna Catholic Parishes. The coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing religious education programs for OCIA, Sacramental Preparation, and Adult Faith Formation.
Key Responsibilities:
Adult Faith Formation:
- Develop and implement programs and activities to foster the spiritual growth and discipleship of adult Catholics.
- Organize and facilitate adult faith formation events, such as Bible studies, retreats, and workshops.
- Provide opportunities for adults to deepen their faith and live out their Catholic identity.
- Initiate and coordinate evangelization efforts within the parish, reaching out to non-Catholics and encouraging them to explore the Catholic faith.
- Develop and implement strategies for evangelization, including outreach programs and events.
- Work with the pastor and other staff members to create a welcoming and faith-filled environment for all.
- Meet with new parishioners and provide welcome resources
- Baptism Preparation: Organize, schedule, and facilitate preparation for families to celebrate their child’s baptism.
OCIA Coordination:
- Oversee the OCIA process, including interviews, catechetical sessions, and the celebration of rites.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive OCIA program that aligns with diocesan guidelines and parish needs.
- Coordinate with the pastor, liturgical team, and other parish staff to ensure the smooth execution of OCIA activities.
- Recruit, train, and support OCIA team members, including catechists, sponsors, and prayer partners.
- Prepare materials and resources for OCIA sessions and rites.
- Maintain accurate records of OCIA participants and their progress.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of Catholic doctrine, scripture, and the sacraments.
Experience in catechetics, adult education, or ministry.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Passion for faith formation and evangelization.
Ability to build relationships and foster a sense of community.
Be familiar with OCIA rites and guidelines.
A practicing Catholic with a strong faith witness.
Able to relate with a variety of people who want or are part of the parish community

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position may require travel to off-site meeting locations for community and parishioner events, which may occur during evenings and weekends, with some flexibility to accommodate extended workdays, evenings, and weekends.
