PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position works closely with the Diocesan Parish Accounting team by performing financial, operational and compliance reviews of parishes and other diocesan entities to assess compliance with Diocesan standards. Review individual parish financial data and trends and compile financial status reports to be used by parish and diocesan leadership. Train parish business administrators and bookkeepers on implementation of accounting standards including financial accounting, payroll requirements, and diocesan standard policies and procedures.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- Audit Experience preferred.
- One to three years of accounting experience required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- MS Office, with strong Excel skills required.
- Strong analytical and reasoning abilities, including planning, organizing and decision-making abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently.
- Able to be ethical and honest in all interactions and keeps sensitive information confidential.
- Ability to be patient while working with individuals with a diverse skill set.
PREFERRED:
- Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
- QuickBooks knowledge preferred.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for nonprofits preferred.
