About the Job:
The Diocese Of Metuchen seeks a skilled Communications Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as experience in communications and public relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the overall implementation of the Bishop's vision of evangelization through local and national initiatives
- Develop and support the Secretary for Evangelization and Communication in all evangelization and communication projects
- Write key communications for Bishop of Metuchen and other executive leaders, including stakeholder letters, media statements, announcements, talking points, press releases, spoken remarks, and video messages
- Maintain relationships with executive leadership, maintaining their trust and confidentiality and providing counsel and strategy on key messaging
- Develop and maintain the diocesan crises communication strategy and plan
- Develop and direct overall digital content strategy for all diocesan communication platforms
- Work in collaboration with diocesan offices, ministries, parishes, schools, clergy, and partners/affiliates to highlight key initiatives, events, and messages
- Manage and assign freelance photographers for all newsworthy and diocesan events
- Contribute to the diocesan publication as requested
- Design and edit ads for diocesan offices, ministries, and schools at request
