Job Description: Director of Media Relations
The Diocese Of Metuchen is seeking a skilled Director of Media Relations to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as experience in media relations and communications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective media relations strategies to promote the diocese's mission and goals
- Build and maintain relationships with local and national media outlets
- Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communications materials
- Maintain a crisis communications plan and respond to any crises that may arise
- Collaborate with diocesan offices, ministries, parishes, schools, clergy, and partners/affiliates to highlight key initiatives, events, and messages
- Manage and assign freelance photographers for all newsworthy and diocesan events
- Contribute to the diocesan publication as requested
- Design and edit ads for diocesan offices, ministries, and schools at request
