In all areas of campus life, Saint Mary's strives to create an encounter with Christ.PURPOSE AND SCOPE : Maintenance Worker is an entry-level role that performs a variety of maintenance and handyman work for the high school. They will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and cleanliness of the high school in addition to light handyman work throughout the campus. This position reports to the Facilities Manager. This position requires the ability to effectively communicate via phone and email; ensure that all duties are completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner; flexibility, forward thinking and managing deadlines; willingness to seek the latest educational practices and implement; and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and a wide degree of creativity and latitude are expected.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : Assure that maintenance work orders are completed in a timely fashion Assure that the school grounds are maintained in a clean and safe manner by mowing, watering, weeding, raking, and general trash pick-up as required Perform minor maintenance work throughout the high school campus as needed Perform light plumbing, electrical, carpentry and other work as needed Provide assistance for event set-up and take-down Maintains an inventory of supplies needed for maintenance and repair Performs any other job-related tasks deemed necessary and / or assigned by the Facilities Manager and / orPprincipal. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED : Experience with hand and landscape tools Ability to safely operate gas or electric power tools and landscaping tools; experience with gas and electric maintenance vehicles General knowledge of care requirements for landscaping and maintenance Must be able to work independently and on a flexible schedule May be required to work a flexible schedule, to include nights and weekends Must be able to perform strenuous tasks and can lift 50lbs Ability to lift, move and use ladders, lifts, scaffolds and other related equipment PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
