Job Summary :
The art teacher will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression.
Responsibilities :
- Develop lesson plans based on the needs of classes and individual students.
- Teach knowledge and skills in art, including drawing, painting, lettering, and art history.
- Demonstrate techniques in activities such as drawing and painting
- Research methods and materials that can be used in class.
- Instruct students in proper care and use of tools and equipment
- Monitor student progress using practice assignments as well as formative and summative assessments.
- Plan and present art displays designed to exhibit students' work for the school and community.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by administration.
Educational Requirements :
BS in education (preferred) or background in teaching art
