What are the responsibilities and job description for the Long Term Substitute Teacher, Middle School Social Studies- St. Martin of Tours Academy position at Diocese of San Diego?
The Diocese of San Diego is seeking a qualified, experienced and passionate educator who is deeply committed to developing Christ-centered, forward-thinking leaders to serve our future Church and our world. The classroom teacher develops a curriculum that meets developmental goals and instructional activities based on the standards adapted by the Diocese of San Diego. The classroom teacher is responsible for measuring academic progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis and providing progress reports and report cards as required. The classroom teacher exercises open and respectful communication with families, students, staff, and administration and provides a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus. Religious Qualifications:
- Active, practicing Roman Catholic (preferred)
- Respects and understands a Catholic school philosophy
Professional Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree
- Successful experience in student teaching or classroom teaching
- A single subject or multi subject credential preferred, but not required
- Bilingual English / Spanish (preferred)
- Positive references and recommendations
- A Clear criminal background check
- A basic understanding and acceptance of Catholic School philosophy, goals, and objectives
- Necessary background and training in Catholicism and Social Studies educational methods
- Understanding of child development and skills necessary to relate to the students
- Appropriate control and discipline techniques, which will enhance the learning environment
Salary : $23 - $25
