Description/Job Summary
This individual is directly responsible to the VA Programs Supervisor. This individual will be responsible to supervise the clinical management of the VA/Homeless Programs and complete the duties of Clinical Psychologist as outlined below. This individual will provide counseling for residents and sign off on all treatment plans.
This contract position shall be in compliance with Federal wage and hour regulations. Scheduled work time is a 10-hour work week on site, in which working hours are flexible so as to guarantee responsive and meaningful counseling appointments.

Independent Contractor (minimum of 10 hours per week) On-site
Required Qualifications
This individual must possess a LSW, LCSW or LPC from an accredited college/university
The individual must consent to the following criminal record checks (where applicable): NCIC, State Police and Child Abuse History Clearance. He/She must provide complete details of any arrest and /or conviction records they may possess, and their disposition. He/She must consent to random drug and alcohol testing.
The individual must possess current certification for CPR, AED and First Aid. If not, the individual will have thirty (30)days upon date of hire to acquire these certifications, at the cost of the Agency.
The Diocese of Scranton requires that all employees/contract employees to complete an initial Virtues Training Program, designed to empower organizations and people to better control risk and improve the lives of all those who interact with the Church. Employees will also be required to monitor the Virtues website and complete any internet updates as become assigned. Responsibilities/Duties
- Administrative:
- Provide general counseling activities 10 hours per week for the VA. GPD Program, providing 1:1 general counseling service to assist residents as needed.
- Program Staff Management:
- Reviews and analyzes case records of clients which he/she counsels to determine the degree of services rendered to insure and enhance quality assurance.
- Meets regularly with Veterans, monitors efficiency and skills in providing services, evaluates assigned Client performance in the GPD program in terms of the following skills: and adherence to program policies and procedures. This evaluation will culminate in service ratings and recommendation regarding personal self-improvement actions.
- Direct Services:
- Provides direct counseling services and implement counseling strategies for Veterans assigned to the clinical treatment program.
- Provide various treatment modalities and strategies for those receiving treatment.
- Conduct weekly counseling sessions with assigned Veterans in the clinical treatment program.
- Adhere to all Veterans Administration policies, regulations and contract requirements of the GPD Program.
- Work closely and cooperate with Veterans Administration representatives.
- Assists with program inspections, licensing and accreditation
- Must be familiar with day-to-day operations of the St. Francis Commons Veteran Program.
- Will provide emergency counseling services for residents should the need arise.
- Work closely with the Programs' Supervisor
