Primary Function: Under the direction of the Aftercare director and the school principal is responsible for the care and instruction of pre-kindergarten to eighth grade children. The Employee shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic Teaching both academically and behaviorally while at work and in his/her personal life, “…Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received.” (Eph. 4:1)

Required Activities: Walking; sitting; standing; stooping; reaching; talking; handling, hearing; carrying; and keyboarding.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School is a Roman Catholic religious organization, and all employees are expected to respect and conduct themselves in accordance with the values, teachings and morals of the Roman Catholic Church and by Arizona state law. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Shall recognize and support the unique Catholic Mission of the School by speaking, acting, and instructing consistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. The employee may not espouse any doctrine inconsistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
- Shall abide by Catholic principles in the employee’s professional and private life and shall govern his/her professional and private life in strict accordance with Catholic morals and principles to demonstrate complete adherence to Catholic moral strictures.
- Shall give evidence of living Gospel values by being an active member of a faith community and being open to the importance of a personal faith journey; shall strive to model the teaching of Jesus by attitude and example in the coordinator’s professional and private life.
- Develop and help build the school’s faith community by a demonstrated willingness to participate in and plan school religious and service activities.
- Assist the director with student supervision including assisting with lessons and related supervision.
- Be able to communicate effectively with students.
- Actively monitor students during playtime, homework, and transitions, ensuring student safety and appropriate behavior.
- Assist in designing and leading engaging activities likes arts and crafts, sports, games, and educational enrichment programs.
- Oversee snack time, ensuring proper food distribution and clean up.
- Regularly update parents on student activities and any concerns through verbal or written communication.
- Address minor behavioral issues and implement positive reinforcement strategies to maintain a positive group dynamic.
- At all times demonstrate professional responsibility in all tasks assigned, display sound judgment in dress and general behavior.
- Help maintain a clean and organized after-school space.
- Record student attendance, participation, and progress as needed.
- Work effectively with other after-school staff to coordinate activities and share information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications
- A working knowledge of and a strong commitment to the mission of fostering lay leadership in the Catholic Church. If a baptized Catholic, must be a practicing Roman Catholic in full communion with the Church.
- Excellent communications skills, written and verbal.
- Excellent human relations and interpersonal skills; must be a self-starter and be well-organized; must be a team player.
- Availability: Monday-Wednesday & Friday: 3pm-6pm and Thursdays 1:30pm-6pm.
- Be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in the use of computer technology including word processing; ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Flexibility in assessing needs and strategies and adapt appropriately in a school environment.
- The ability to successfully complete a criminal history and background check.
- Professional bearing and clean and neat personal appearance.
- Must provide evidence of freedom from infectious active tuberculosis.
- Six months of childcare experience and:
- High School Graduate or GED; or
- At least 12 credit hours from an accredited college or university, including at least six credit hours in early childhood, child development, or a closely related field.
- OR associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, or a closely related field.
- OR N.A.C., C.D.A., or C.C.P. credential.
- Previous childcare experience.
- CPR & First Aid training.
- Creative with arts and crafts.
