Job Title : Thrift Shop Sales Associate, Part-time
Reports to : Thrift Shop Manager and / or Business Manager
Location : Our Lady of Light Catholic Community | Ft Myers, FL
Classification : Hourly / Nonexempt
Overview :
Proactively assist in the fulfillment of the mission of the Thrift Shop through the effective and timely support of customers, donors, and volunteers. Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and secure environment in the shop.
Job Responsibilities :
- Oversite of volunteers at all skill, age, and physical function levels.
- Maintain and / or direct volunteers to appropriate distribution areas to ensure safe storage and minimal damage of donations in the back room and safe placement of merchandise on the sales floor.
- Procure, store, and stock all items purchased for shop.
- Sort, categorize, price, and display all donations for sale floor.
- Maintain files, receipts, and daily cash register documents.
- Prepare weekly cash register documentation and receipts for Parish Business Manager.
- Close / Open the shop and balance daily register / card terminals and prepare daily deposit
- Other duties as assigned by Manager
- High School degree or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of work-related experience in stocking, logistics, and or / retail.
- Strong computer skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience operating cash register and credit card machine.
- Knowledge of how to prepare bank deposits.
- Understanding of safety in loading and unloading merchandise.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., carry bags, boxes, furniture donations, and merchandise regularly.
- Ability to maintain balance while utilizing a ladder for merchandise and / or donations
- Valid driver's license.
