Overview :
St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church is looking for a dynamic, energetic, faith-filled disciple of Jesus Christ to serve as a Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministry (Coordinator) helping to facilitate the evangelization, formation, and discipleship of Middle and High School Students as well as young adults in our parish. The coordinator is a first point of contact for adults, teens, and children who approach the church for faith formation and sacramental preparation. The coordinator supports the Faith Formation Director in establishing a cultural of hospitality, pastoral care, and evangelization. The coordinator contributes to the professional execution of general office functions.
Job Duties include, but are not limited to :
- Sharing the joy of being in love with Christ and His Church to young people.
- Helping to establish an effective Youth Ministry program, working in conjunction with Sacramental Prep and the parish school.
- Recruits, motivates and leads young people and volunteers by example.
- Coordinators catechists and volunteers, ensuring both readiness to work with youth and all certification requirements are met.
- Assists FF Director, volunteers, and parents at all catechetical programs, special Masses and large parish events.
- Run the Faith Formation office during assigned hours, greeting all visitors, answering phone calls, taking messages - all in a professional manner, dress and attitude.
- Provide answers regarding faith formation, youth ministry, and sacramental preparation.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree, ideally in theology, youth ministry, religious education or related field.
- Must be a practicing Roman Catholic;
- Individuals will obtain DOV Youth Minister basic certification if not already certified.
- Abilities must include Church teaching; lead public prayer; interpersonal skills; public speaking; recruitment techniques; organizational, management, and administrative skills; creativity in program design and development; facilitation skills; knowledge of referral programs; energy, enthusiasm, and commitment; contemporary Catholic / Christian music; maintain A / V equipment; computer skills, including word processing; teaching techniques for adolescents.
