Summer Camp Counselor

Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Counselors to join our team for an exciting summer camp experience. The Camp Counselor will be responsible for creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for campers. This role involves supervising children, leading activities, and fostering a positive atmosphere that promotes personal growth and teamwork. Ideal candidates will have experience working with children and a passion for outdoor activities and education.

Duties

• Foster a Catholic-centered environment through daily devotionals and discussions.
• Supervise and ensure the safety of campers during activities and throughout the camp day.
• Plan, organize, and lead various recreational activities such as sports, arts and crafts, and nature exploration.
• Provide guidance and support to campers in developing social skills, teamwork, and conflict resolution.
• Implement behavior management strategies to maintain a positive camp environment.
• Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members regarding camper progress and any concerns.
• Assist in the preparation of meals and snacks as needed.
• Participate in training sessions related to first aid, child development, and camp policies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in a camp or educational setting is preferred.
• Background in early childhood education or childcare is a plus.
• Experience in sports coaching or tutoring can enhance the camp experience for participants.
• Strong behavior management skills to effectively handle various situations that may arise with campers.
• A passion for outdoor activities, creativity in planning engaging programs, and enthusiasm for working with youth.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
