All Saints Academy, a small Catholic preschool - Grade 8 school located in Webster, MA, is seeking a licensed/certified grade 2 teacher for a self-contained classroom. The qualified candidate would be responsible for teaching all aspects of the curriculum, including religion, with a heavy emphasis on reading and math. Applicants must have experience teaching and must be able to create engaging, hands-on lessons which spark curiosity and fuel a love of learning in children. The qualified candidate would be responsible for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.
Hours are 7:30AM-3:00PM, M-F. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Create and/or implement curriculum Plan and execute lessons Classroom management (up to 24 students) Provide weekly lesson plans to administration or as requestedAdvise parents of student progress for the purpose of communicating expectations; student's achievements; developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environmentManage student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environmentCreate a classroom environment that fosters growth and learning Maintain records of student work and development Create report cards and plan parent-teacher conferences in the fall and springCollaborate with tutors/specials teachers/title one Attend and contribute to IEP and Administrative Plan meetings Differentiate instruction based on educational plan or student level Monitor students in a variety of educational environments (e.g. classroom, cafeteria, playground, school grounds, hallways, restrooms, field trips, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environmentHandle social/emotional issues as they arise Complete recommendations for future school assignments Keep attendance records Procure materials for the classroom Attend staff meetings and professional developmentReport incidents (e.g. fights, suspected child abuse, suspected substance abuse, harassment, zero tolerance offenses etc.) for the purpose of maintaining personal safety of students, providing a positive learning environment and adhering to state law.
