POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance and operation of all HVAC and refrigeration systems within the plant. The technician is responsible for performing all work as directed by the Utilities Maintenance Supervisor, and/or the Maintenance Manager. The technician will monitor and recognize maintenance issues and needs within the assigned territory and will ensure timely and efficient resolution for all service calls. This position will proactively seek to continuously improve the reliability and sustainability of all associated mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and refrigeration systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Perform daily checks inspections on refrigeration system & components to verify proper operation
· Make adjustments to refrigeration system as needed to maintain correct & optimal operation on an industrial Ammonia refrigeration plant
· Must be able to follow detailed instructions both written and oral
· Must be able to precisely follow maintenance procedures
· Must be able to work with all supervisors, outside contractors, and team members
· Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
· Must be willing to accept responsibility, and accountability, for insuring that proper procedures are followed
· Responsible for accurate completion of checklists, and record all associated data
· Maintain a clean & safe work area

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Required Education:
o High School Diploma or equivalent GED
o There will be a 60-day training/qualifying period from date of hire
§ Attain EPA universal license
§ Attend third party Ammonia refrigeration training
· Required Experience:
o Minimum of (5) to (10) years working as a maintenance or service technician.
o Minimum of (5) years working with Industrial Refrigeration/HVAC systems.
o Strong demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
o Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
o Ability to pass a Background Check.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Intermittent travel will be required to perform the role. The amount of travel will depend on the opportunities that are being worked at any time. Incumbent should expect to have a travel requirement average of 10%.
