The Chassis Mechanic will perform mechanical repairs and inspections in a depot / repair facility environment, repairs to be performed in a shop setting. The employee will perform all types of chassis repairs including brakes and wheel end repairs, welding, cutting with a torch and repairing and replacing parts on the chassis using standard repair tools. Repairs will be performed to FMCSA standards and completed based on written estimates.
Duties and responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair all chassis defects
- Including ABS systems; air brake systems, wheels end, and structural assemblies
- Some welding and fabrication of chassis
- Use of mobile app to log work orders and document repairs
- Use of a Mobile truck to drive to locations and complete repairs to DCLI chassis. (valid drivers license)
