Inspect and approve work orders at roadability on the 2nd shift (5PM - 3AM), ensuring no unnecessary work is billed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect chassis and approve work orders in the roadability lanes at specified facilities.
- Monitor and control M&R costs for chassis for same specified locations.
- Review work order input in the M&R system daily, approve or reject said work orders daily.
- Read and answer e-mails, respond to all correspondence ASAP, no later than one working day.
Other Duties and Responsibilities, as needed
Monitor and control OOS equipment levels to include Repair Estimate Approval and Repair Limit Compliance.Regular communications with logistics department with regards to equipment requirements.Report chassis OOS status / count and notes as needed in M&R System.Conduct daily visits to specified local terminals, CYs and depots to ensure that all M&R issues are addressed, and that Company Policies are enforced. Provide detailed written reports of any problems to the local manager.Ensure DCLI inspection / repair standards are communicated to vendors and adhered to on all equipment repairs.Assist locations in continuously investigating ways and means to reduce overall M&R costs while ensuring service levels are not compromised.Work with vendors to increase productivity.Monitor and control tire inventory levels at all facilities.Discuss and resolve work order input discrepancy with M&R vendors.Perform DCLI monthly safety review.Conduct shop site audits for all responsible locationsMonitor and release any DVER / DVIR inspections that location is notified of.Review M&R system reports as needed; vendor report card, duplicate repair code and work order reports as well as STS code frequency reports.Generate information and fill out third party billing / damage recovery at all locations.Track and order replacement license plates for chassis, report same to Fleet Ops when installed.Coordinate off-hire and scrap chassis programs.Control and report renumbering of chassis in all locations.Qualifications
Mechanical aptitude / experience in chassis maintenance and repair a plus.Ability to effectively communicate company policy and procedures.Ability to identify problems and seek solutions.Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet daily requirements.Interface credibly with vendors and terminal personnel.Ability to work with internal and external customers.Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screeningDirect Reports
