What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager Fleet Operations position at Direct ChassisLink, Inc. / DCLI?
Manages the administration, coordination and tracking of the DCLI chassis fleet, to ensure inventory integrity and accuracy of the DCLI borrowing base.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains the chassis fleet file in CMS; updates equipment characteristics, changes in status, additions and deletions, etc., to the active fleet.
- Generates the “borrowing base file” at the end of each month which details and includes all changes from the previous months report
- Manages full fleet reconciliations with trading partners on a specified interval, to ensure the overall fleet is accurately represented in DCLI’s inventory management system
- Reconciles and validates leased equipment invoices against the CMS database
- Manages long term outs and terminal inventory reconciliations
- Coordinates equipment on-hire and off-hire processes for chassis
- Manages updates to chassis fleet specifications, including renumbering of chassis, cooping and de-cooping of all “pool” chassis, FMCSA/BIT inspections, tire & hub sizes
- Manages import and activation of new build and acquired chassis
- Manages fleet acquisition/induction projects to ensure fleet integrity throughout integration
- Manages the DV process to accurately quote and bill chassis casualty values in cases of Lost, Stolen, Damaged and Destroyed
- Manages the notifications process for LTO pool units
- Manages updating the GIER external database to ensure alignment with CMS
- Identify and implement recommendations to eliminate fleet operations bottlenecks and inconsistencies
- Participate in evaluating new technologies to ensure the advancement of technology architecture and data within organization needs
- Develops and maintains fleet based KPI’s designed to measure fleet health and target areas of improvement
- Drives system enhancement initiatives to improve DCLI’s fleet management/tracking strategy
- Ensures department metrics are updated weekly; develops and implements action plans to improve on each.

Qualifications
- BS/BA degree required, preferably in Transportation, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years overall experience in Logistics, Fleet and/or Transportation related fields
- Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Power Point, Excel)
- Ability to establish priorities and respond with urgency
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
- Strong attention to detail and superior organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet daily requirements
- Experience leading cross-functional projects
- A strong personal presence and customer-oriented attitude. The ability to adapt, lead and motivate others
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
