Medical Assistant - Dermatology Technician III - Sugar Land, TX, Local Contract -(760608)
Mon- Fri, 8am - 5pm, 40 hours per week
No weekends or holidays!
Medical Assistant - Dermatology Technician III Dermatology Technician III provides supportive patient care functions for Dermatology and other assigned clinical area, under the supervision of a Physician, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Vocational Nurse, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational, and professional standards. Some duties may be delegated to the Sr. Dermatology Technician by the physician or RN. This position will serve as the primary support for an assigned Dermatologist. The Technician requires additional duties which include demonstrating knowledge and scribing of medical terminology to assist in documentation during Dermatology office visits and/or procedures. The technician can be asked to scribe for physicians (history, physical, patient instructions, pending orders. In addition, the technician may also be asked to administer injectables and/or other high level skill performance: Perform phototherapy treatment/excimer laser treatment, Set-up/assist with procedures, sterile field, and/or cosmetic procedures, removal of sutures, Performs patient education, registration in ipledge, apply patch testing for allergic contact dermatitis, sterilize instruments, and manage pathology log to make sure all results received and given to patients/treatments done
Skills required
High School diploma or GED from an accredited program and Gradate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or school
8 years of directly related experience as a Medical Assistant with Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant and Dermatology Medical Assistant Certification or 9 years of directly related experience as a Medical Assistant w/no Cert./Registration as a MA and Derm MA Certification
Certified or Registered as a Medical Assistant Dermatology Medical Assistant Certification
BLS Certification through American Heart Association
Computer Experience
EPIC experience
Able to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $852.22 - $1,100.00 per week
