POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented full-time Safety Specialist to join our team in the broadband industry. The Safety Specialist will promote a safe and healthy work environment, develop safety programs and training, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and support initiatives aimed at minimizing workplace hazards. This position also oversees the fleet and facilities management team to ensure safe working environments for all employees.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Safety Program Support: Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety policies and procedures that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
· Safety Audits: Participate in regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions to enhance workplace safety.
· Training Assistance: Help develop, organize and deliver safety training sessions for employees, ensuring they are informed about safety protocols and emergency procedures.
· Incident Reporting: Assist in investigating workplace accidents and incidents, documenting findings, and supporting the development of strategies to prevent future occurrences.
· Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, and compliance activities, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
· Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant safety regulations and assist in ensuring company practices meet all legal and industry standards.
· Emergency Preparedness: Support the development and implementation of emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first aid training.
· Fleet & Facilities Oversight: Supervise fleet and facilities team to ensure facilities and vehicles are well maintained, safe and operational.
· Collaboration: Work collaboratively with various departments to promote a culture of safety, offering guidance and support on safety-related issues.
SALARY: $54,000 - $56,000 per year
SCHEDULE:
· 35 hours per week during regular business hours of Monday – Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
- Location: Chubbuck (ID) or Rockland (ID) depending upon successful candidate.
QUALIFICATION & REQUIRED SKILLS EXPECTATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
· 3 years of direct safety program management experience
· Previous experience in a safety role, preferably within the broadband or telecommunications industry.
· Certifications in safety management (e.g., OSHA) is a plus but not required.
· Familiarity with safety regulations and standards applicable to the broadband sector.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels.
· Ability to assist in analyzing data, preparing reports, and making recommendations for safety improvements.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Competency in Windows-based environment.
· Internet and technologically savvy.
· Must have and maintain valid Driver’s License with good driving record.
· Ability to pass background check, pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, and drug screening at any time during employment.
