POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Primarily responsible for searching for underground utilities and accurately marking the location. Requires superior observational skills and deductive reasoning to accurately identify, locate, and mark utilities within a requested job scope by the required deadline. Maintain daily contact with utility managers, fiber construction crews, homeowners and contractors, discussing locate issues. Receives daily jobs via computer/device and prioritizes daily work for efficiency and completes all necessary paperwork in a timely manner. Requires troubleshooting skills and ability to learn new procedures and technologies. Must read and understand complex utility-provided maps. Must be detail oriented and maintain a professional and positive attitude. Requires ability to work in a field environment with some administrative work. Other work- related duties as assigned, including technical and general labor for fiber construction and installation.
SALARY: $19 - $21 depending upon experience
SCHEDULE & QUALIFICATION EXPECTATIONS
- 35 hours per week during normal business hours Monday – Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.
- Overtime is expected to finish scheduled work.
- Must be available to respond to emergency situations at all hours.
- Requires routine driving over large geographic area daily.
- Must have and maintain valid Driver’s License with good driving record.
- Ability to pass pre-employment and ongoing drug screening.
