Employee Benefits Associate – Mid to Senior Level
Location: Seattle, San Francisco, or Portland
Job Type: Full-Time | Senior Associate
Salary Range: $225,000 - $330,000 (Based on experience)
A highly regarded law firm is seeking a mid-to-senior-level Employee Benefits Associate to join its national practice. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated attorney looking to take the next step in their career in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on retirement plans (401(k), 403(b), 457(b)) and defined benefit plans
- Provide M&A benefits support and counsel on executive compensation (409A)
- Assist with health and welfare plans, including compliance with ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA
- Work on ERISA litigation and related benefits disputes
- Collaborate with clients to develop strategies and solutions tailored to their needs
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of experience in employee benefits law
- Experience with private, tax-exempt, and public retirement plans
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, executive compensation, and healthcare benefits laws
- Excellent writing, communication, and client relationship skills
- Ability to work independently and manage complex matters with minimal supervision
- JD from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
