Direct Counsel is partnered with an AmLaw 100 firm seeking a mid to senior-level associate to join their Labor & Employment Department in one of their California offices. Interested candidates must possess a high level of academic achievement, solid law firm or clerking experience, and superb research, writing, and communication skills.
Responsibilities:

Represent employers in employment law matters involving both litigation and advice and counseling

Handle cases related to discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wrongful discharge actions

Advise clients on wage and hour law compliance

Support class action litigation matters

Collaborate with clients and colleagues to support the national practice
Qualifications:

JD and active California Bar admission required

5 years of experience representing employers in employment law matters, with at least 2 years specific to California

Strong background in discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wrongful discharge actions

Experience with wage and hour law and class action matters

Ability to navigate complex subject matter quickly and effectively

Ambition, drive, and team-orientation to support the national practice
Compensation:
-
Salary range between $285,000 - $420,000, depending on experience

Discretionary performance-based bonus may be available
