Direct Counsel is seeking an Exempt Organizations & Trusts Attorney to join a respected law firm in New York. This role is designed for mid-level associates (class of 2021-2018) with experience working at a law firm or in-house at a foundation.
Responsibilities:
- Advise private foundations on structuring significant charitable gifts and bequests.
- Negotiate with charitable recipients and oversee the implementation of philanthropic strategies.
- Work on trusts and estates matters with substantial charitable components.
Requirements:
- JD from an accredited law school.
- Bar admission in New York or eligibility to waive in.
- 3-6 years of experience in exempt organizations, trusts, or estate planning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
