Direct Counsel is seeking an IP Litigation Resource Attorney to join a prestigious and innovative law firm with a nationally recognized Intellectual Property Litigation practice. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled patent litigator to take on a high-impact, non-billable role focused on enhancing internal knowledge sharing, business development, and attorney development within the firm’s IP Litigation group.
About the Role
The Resource Attorney will play a key strategic role in ensuring attorneys across the IP Litigation group stay informed, efficient, and aligned with best practices. This role does not involve client billables—instead, it centers on supporting the group’s operations, know-how, content creation, and training.
Responsibilities

Stay current on legal and regulatory updates relevant to patent and trade secrets litigation.

Assist in drafting and curating client-facing content such as alerts, blog posts, and white papers.

Develop internal resources to support attorney efficiency and knowledge sharing.

Maintain an organized repository of templates, memos, and other key work product.

Collaborate with Marketing on business development initiatives, RFPs, and firm branding.

Coordinate practice group trainings, speaking engagements, and CLE/webinar content.

Partner with Information Services to optimize and implement legal technology tools.

Support Professional Development efforts around associate training and mentoring.
Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in patent litigation (some trade secret litigation experience preferred).

Deep understanding of federal court procedures, IP strategy, and related technology sectors.

Excellent writing and presentation skills; strong attention to detail.

Compensation

The expected annual salary range is $220,000 – $325,000, depending on experience and location.
