Direct Counsel is seeking a Junior Government Contracts Associate to join a prestigious Am Law 100 firm in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in government contracts, including bid protests, claims litigation, compliance counseling, and M&A due diligence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle a variety of government contract matters, including bid protests, claims litigation, investigations, compliance counseling, and M&A due diligence.
- Advise clients on federal procurement regulations and compliance requirements.
- Represent clients in litigation before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, Boards of Contract Appeals, and other administrative forums.
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide strategic legal advice on government contracts.
Qualifications:
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Bar Admission: Must be admitted to practice in Washington, DC.
- Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience in government contracts at a law firm, government agency, or through a judicial clerkship with the U.S. Court of Federal Claims or Boards of Contract Appeals.
- Law school coursework in government contracts is preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $225,000 – $260,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
